Policies & Disclaimers

At Watson’s Retreat, your dog’s safety and happiness are our top priority.

To provide the best care for every quest, we ask that all clients review and agree to the following policies before boarding.

Health & Vaccinations

  • All dogs must be current on the following vaccinations: RABIES, BORDETELLA(within 6 months), and DHPP(DISTEMPER/PARVO).

  • Proof of vaccinations is required before check in. You can have a paper copy ready on drop off or you can send it to us over Email.

  • Dogs showing signs of illness (coughing, vomiting, diarrhea, etc.) may be refused entry for the safety of the other guest here.

  • All dogs must be free of fleas and ticks at check-in.

  • Owners are required to maintain their dog on a regular flea and tick prevention program (monthly topical, oral, or collar).

  • Owners acknowledge that despite preventative measures, exposure to fleas and ticks is possible in any boarding or outdoor environment.

Liability

Owners acknowledge that pet care and socialization involve inherent risks, including illness, injury, or death. While Watson’s Retreat takes every precaution to ensure your dog’s safety, we cannot guarantee the health or behavior of other dogs. Owners agree to release Watson’s Retreat, its staff, and affiliates from liability for injury, illness, or loss, except in cases of proven negligence.

Veterinary Care & Emergencies

If your dog becomes ill or injured while in our care, we will seek veterinary treatment. Owners are responsible for all related costs. Watson’s Retreat will make reasonable efforts to contact the owner or emergency contact prior to treatment but reserves the right to act in the pet’s best interest.

Personal Belongings

Owners may leave toys, bedding, or other belongings with their dog, but Watson’s Retreat is not responsible for loss, damage, or destruction of personal items.

Emergency Situations

In case of natural disaster, fire, or other emergencies, Watson’s Retreat will take all reasonable steps to ensure the safety of every pet. However, outcomes cannot be guaranteed.

Payment & Cancellations

  • Payment is due at or before drop off. Also can do half on drop off and half on pickup if there is situation where you are unsure of your return date for pick up.

  • Deposits (if required) are non-refundable

  • We understand plans can change. However, cancellations made within 7 days of your reservation will incur a cancellation fee($25), as we hold your pet’s spot exclusively for them.

  • Cancellations made less than 24 hours before the scheduled stay will be charged the equivalent of one night’s boarding fee.
